Seven

I reached out for his hand and when we touched it was nearly frozen.  His gentle fingers grasped onto mine, causing my veins to shiver.  It was in that second that I knew this was true love.  He walked me over to the bench near us and sat me down.

“Ok, watch this!” he told me.  And he skipped over to the monkey bars and traveled across the entire row, his dangling velcro-laced sneakers leading the way.  He tumbled onto the platform and sat, breathing.  I could see his chest swell and contract under his puffed winter coat.  Then he shifted and looked over at me, confirming that I had just witnessed this feat.  And smiled.
